| Noise pollution in coal preparation plants/ washeries and control measures - with case discussion from BCCL washery. | 1.Quantify the existing noise status and critical
analysis of the noise prone activities 2.Audiometric analysis of exposed population |
1.Identification of noisy equipment 2. Critical analysis of noisy equipment through frequency spectrum analysis 3. Audiometric analysis for evaluating the effects of equipment noise on the hearing acuity of exposed person. |
1.The in depth analysis of the monitoring
results revealed severe noise situation inside washery. Frequency spectrum
analysis led to the identification of alarming frequency range for all the
noisy equipment, based on which suitable control measures were suggested. 2. The findings of audiometric analysis highlight the harmful effect of exposure to high noise situation. The exposed workers are having a higher threshold of audibility as compared to non exposed group of workers. |
This provides the guideline for noise monitoring study in a coal washery |
