As part of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad's ongoing Centenary Celebrations, the EIACP Programme Centre at the Department of Environmental Science & Engineering, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad is organizing a series of activities to celebrate the World Environment Day on June 5th, 2025 (Thursday), at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
This year’s theme, "Ending Plastic Pollution Globally", under the campaign #BeatPlasticPollution, highlights the urgent global need to reduce plastic waste through informed choices, sustainable practices, and collective action. The campaign calls on individuals and communities to recognize plastic pollution as a major environmental threat and take steps to eliminate its use at the source.
To mark the occasion, the Centre is organizing a Sit & Draw Competition / Poster Making Competition to engage students in creatively expressing solutions and raising awareness about plastic pollution. Additionally, a Plantation Drive will be conducted to demonstrate our shared commitment to environmental protection and climate resilience. A Yoga Session will also be organized to promote physical, mental, and environmental well-being, aligning individual harmony with the broader goals of sustainability and unity.
