Invited Guest Lecture - Prof. Yoginder P. Chugh

Prof. Yoginder P. Chugh, Southern Illinois University (SIU), Carbondale, USA, gave a presentation on "Research Methods for Scientists & Engineers: An Interactive Discussion" at Seminar Hall of Management Department, Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad and later on he also had an interactive session with the students.

 

The lecture was attended by Research Scholars, B.Tech & M.Tech Students, GSDP 2019-20 Participants of "Waste Management" Certificate Course and Faculty Members of various Departments.

 

ABOUT: Prof. Yoginder P. Chugh

 

We welcome Prof Yoginder P.Chugh., Emeritus Professor in Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, USA.

 

He is a graduate in Mining Engineering from Banaras Hindu University, India, 1961 Batch. He did his Masters in Mining Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, USA in the year 1968 and Ph.D., in Mining Engineering, again from The Pennsylvania State University, in the year 1971.

 

He did additional courses in Soil Mechanics, Operations Research, Statistics and Business, Illinois Institute of Technology and University of Chicago, 1972-1973.

 

Prof Chugh is specialized in Mining Engineering, Rock Mechanics and Ground Control, Surface Mining and Land Reclamation, Operations, Research in Mining, Coal Combustion By-Products Management and Sustainable Management of Mining areas. He has received a number of Honors and Awards in US, Canada and many other countries of eminence.

 

Prof. Chugh was associated with the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, ISM Dhanbad as an Adjunct Professor during the year 2006-07. During 2006-07 he modified and improved the newly prepared Course structure of B.Tech (Environmental Engineering) and M.Tech (Environmental Science and Engineering).
