IIT(ISM) ENVIS Centre (ENVIS Resource Partner) and Department of Environmental Science & Engineering, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad organized a lecture series on 27th August 2022 for the B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD Research Scholars of the department. The eminent Guest Lecturers invited for the lecture series were Prof. Colin Hills, Professor of Environment and Materials Engineering; Director of the Centre for Contaminated Land Remediation at University of Greenwich and Coordinator, Indo-UK Centre of Environment Research and Innovation, Dr. (Ms) Nimisha Tripathi, Sr. Lecturer at University of Greenwich and Convener, Indo-UK Centre of Environment Research and Innovation and Dr. Rajshekhar Singh, Indian Co-coordinator, Indo-UK Centre of Environment Research and Innovation and Chief Scientist/CSIR-CIMFR. At the outset of the lecture series Prof. Anshumali, Professor and Head, Dept. of ESE and Coordinator, ENVIS Centre, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad welcomed all the eminent guest speakers, faculty members, staffs and students and gave a brief outline about the lecture series and introduced the guest speakers to the audience. It was then followed by Prof. Colin Hills’ lecture on “Introduction to the Accelerated Mineralisation of CO2” Dr. (Ms) Nimisha Tripathi's lecture on “Low-carbon options for Biomass Waste Valorisation” and lastly Dr. Rajshekhar Singh's lecture on “Future of Carbon Market in India”. At the end a Q&A session with the students was held and the lecture series concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Anshumali.
