IIT(ISM) EIACP (PC-RP), Department of Environmental Science & Engineering and Department of Chemical Engineering organized a keynote lecture, as a part of Mission LiFE lecture series on 03rd March 2023 at Seminar Hall, Dept. of ESE, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. Dr. Rajender Gupta, Professor (Phased Post Retirement), Faculty of Engineering - Chemical and Materials Engineering Department, University of Alberta, Canada was the invited keynote lecturer of the programme. At the outset of the programme Prof. Anshumali, HOD/ESE & Coordinator, EIACP(PC-RP), IIT(ISM) Dhanbad welcomed all the eminent guests, faculty members, PhD research scholars, students and staff members and gave a brief introduction about Mission LiFE, the mantra given by Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 2021 UNFCCC COP26 in Glasgow, calling upon the global community of individuals and institutions to drive LiFE as a mass movement towards “mindful and deliberate utilisation, instead of mindless and destructive consumption” to protect and Prof. Anshumali said that we need to be Pro-Planet-People and reduce human footprint on Environmental Matrix. Dr. Rajender Gupta then delivered a lecture on the topic "Clean Coal Technologies for Power Generation: Mission LiFE". Dr. Rajender Gupta during his lecture said that clean coal technologies addresses the sustainable use of coal in a carbon-constrained world and have a potential role to play towards near-zero emissions from coal, which efficiently reduces GHG and other contaminants and fuel consumption. At the end of the programme Dr. Rajender Gupta was felicitated with a shawl by Prof. Sumantra Bhattacharya, Emeritus Fellow, Fuel, Minerals And Metallurgical Engineering, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, a memento by Prof. S.K. Maiti, Professor(HAG), Department of Environmental Science & Engineering, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad and a certificate of appreciation by Prof. Anshumali, HOD/ESE & Coordinator, EIACP(PC-RP), IIT(ISM) Dhanbad.
